How to Login to FBR IRIS 2.0 — Step by Step

1

Open the Official Portal

Go to iris.fbr.gov.pk in Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Do not use Internet Explorer or old versions of Firefox — they are not compatible with IRIS 2.0.

2

Enter Your CNIC / NTN

In the Username field, enter your 13-digit CNIC without dashes (e.g. 3520212345678). If you have a separate NTN (for businesses), use that number instead. Do not add spaces or dashes.

3

Enter Your Password

Type the password you set during registration. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you have never logged in before or forgot your password, see the Password Reset section below.

4

Complete the Captcha

Enter the characters shown in the captcha image. Click the refresh icon if the characters are unclear. The captcha is case-sensitive.

5

Click Login

Press the Login button. If your credentials are correct, you will be directed to the IRIS 2.0 dashboard. First-time users may see a profile completion prompt.

If the page loads very slowly, clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Del in Chrome) and try again. IRIS gets very heavy traffic near tax deadlines in September — login early in the morning for best performance.

How to Reset FBR IRIS Password

If you have forgotten your IRIS password, follow these steps:

1

Click "Forgot Password"

On the IRIS login page, click the "Forgot Password" or "Reset Password" link below the login button.

2

Enter CNIC and Registered Contact

Enter your 13-digit CNIC and your registered email address or mobile number. This must be the same contact you used during NTN/IRIS registration.

3

Receive and Enter OTP

An OTP (one-time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. Enter it within 3 minutes — it expires quickly.

4

Set New Password

Create a new strong password: minimum 8 characters, at least one capital letter, one number, and one special character. Save it securely.

If your mobile number is not registered: You cannot reset your password online. You must visit your nearest Regional Tax Office (RTO) with your original CNIC to update your registered contact and reset access. Kamboh Associates can facilitate this process — WhatsApp 0328-4675162.

8 Most Common IRIS Login Errors — and Exact Fixes

Error 1: "Invalid Credentials"

Fix Re-enter CNIC without dashes or spaces. Check Caps Lock. Try password reset if still fails. Ensure you are using the correct CNIC — not spouse or family member's.

Error 2: "Captcha Incorrect"

Fix Click the captcha refresh button to get a new image. Type exactly as shown — captcha is case-sensitive. If captcha image does not load, clear browser cache and refresh page.

Error 3: "Session Expired" or Page Timeout

Fix IRIS sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Refresh the login page and log in again. Do not leave IRIS open without activity for extended periods.

Error 4: "Account Blocked / Locked"

Fix IRIS blocks accounts after 5 consecutive failed login attempts. Wait 24 hours for auto-unlock, or use Forgot Password to reset immediately. Contact FBR helpline 051-111-772-772 for urgent unblock.

Error 5: Page Not Loading / Blank Screen

Fix Use Chrome or Edge browser. Disable browser extensions (especially ad blockers). Clear cache and cookies. Try incognito/private mode. If still blank, try a different device or network.

Error 6: "OTP Not Received" During Password Reset

Fix Check if your mobile number registered with FBR is active. OTPs sometimes delay by 2–3 minutes on Telenor/Jazz. Request OTP again after 3 minutes. If number is inactive, visit RTO with CNIC to update contact.

Error 7: Form Not Saving / Spinning Loader

Fix This usually happens during peak hours near September deadline. Try again early morning (6–8am) when server load is low. Save drafts frequently using the "Save" button — do not wait until the end to submit.

Error 8: "CNIC Not Registered" Message

Fix Your CNIC may not be registered on IRIS. Go to "Registration for Unregistered Person" on the login page to complete e-enrollment and get your NTN. Kamboh Associates handles same-day NTN registration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a mobile app for FBR IRIS 2.0?
FBR has a mobile app (FBR Tax Asaan) for basic services like ATL check, tax payment, and NTN verification. However, full income tax return filing must be done on the IRIS web portal at iris.fbr.gov.pk — the mobile app does not support complete return filing as of 2026.
What is the FBR IRIS helpline number?
FBR helpline: 051-111-772-772 (landline). For IRIS technical support, you can also email helpdesk@fbr.gov.pk. During September filing rush, lines are very busy — call early morning or contact Kamboh Associates for faster help: 0328-4675162.
My IRIS account is for a company, can I use the same login for personal return?
No. Company NTN and individual NTN are separate. If you are a company director, you need two separate IRIS accounts: one for your personal income tax return (using your personal CNIC/NTN) and one for the company return (using company NTN).
How long does it take to appear on Active Taxpayer List after filing?
After filing your income tax return, your name typically appears on the ATL (Active Taxpayer List) within 24–48 hours. The ATL updates every Monday night. If you filed on Friday, you may need to wait until Tuesday to appear. You can verify your ATL status at fbr.gov.pk/atl-verification.
What is the penalty for late filing on IRIS?
FBR levies Rs 1,000 per month late filing penalty for individuals (Section 182). If tax is also owed, the penalty is the higher of Rs 1,000/month or 0.1% of tax payable per week. Late filers also lose ATL status, causing double WHT rates on banking and property transactions — which often costs far more than the formal penalty.
