Engineers and Staff at the Fertiliser Plant

A plant employee's certificate shows basic pay, allowances, bonuses and the taxable value of company housing, utilities and transport. Bonuses paid in June and arrears from a pay revision often push withholding above the actual liability; the return claims the excess back. Employees who joined from another company mid-year combine both certificates.

Turnaround and Maintenance Contractors

The plant pays contractors with income tax withheld. The return lists each invoice, the withholding and the costs of the job: wages for the turnaround crews, materials, equipment hire and transport. PRA tax charged on services is collected for the province.

Cane Haulers

Freight shown on the mill's weighbridge slips and payment advices, less diesel, drivers' wages, tyres and depreciation of tractors and trolleys.

Ginners

Lint and seed sales against seed cotton, power and labour, reconciled with sales tax returns.

Wholesalers

Sales to shops in Ghotki and Daharki on credit are recorded when made; amounts outstanding on 30 June are receivables, and bad debts written off after real recovery efforts can be claimed under the rules.

Farm Families

Cane, cotton and wheat from family land are agricultural income.

Pensioners

Retired plant staff declare pensions as exempt.

Their wealth statement still lists their house and land.

Bank Profit

Profit on savings is declared with the bank's withholding.
